    How often do you find yourself actually in the present moment? . When you are present, your anxiety doesn’t really exist. Your thoughts stop. Your fears poof away. You don’t notice your heart racing or chest tightening – if you do, it isn’t concerning. . Being present and mindful takes practice. It is a skill you build on. The more you do it, the better you get. . Some ways to start being more present are: . Focus on your breath for a timed amount (1 min, 5 mins, 10 mins, etc.) . Pay attention to the colors of objects around you. . Do tasks with your non-dominate hand. . Mindfulness is essentially being aware. Work on observing yourself as you go about your daily life. . Observe your thoughts. Observe your emotions. Observe your actions. . See yourself from a different perspective and really become aware of your natural tendencies. . Learning to live in the present moment has really reduced anxiety and it is something I practice everyday. .
